NRL Welcomes Its First Principal Scientist
NRL welcomes the appointment of new Principal Scientist, A/Prof Rosemary Ffrench, who joins us from the Burnet Institute in Melbourne. Rose has extensive expertise in infectious diseases, vaccine development and immunity, as well as clinical trials and diagnostics development. She will be responsible for oversight of the diagnostic testing, EQAS and production teams, as well as developing new R&D programs.
Rose is leading production of a guidance for WHO to maintain laboratory diagnostic capacity in emergency settings, in collaboration with VIDRL and the Burnet. She is also a member of the TGA Advisory Committee on Vaccines, the NHMRC Development grant review panel and holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Immunology & Pathology at Monash University.
