Update on the South East Asia Laboratory (SEALAB) Strengthening Project
NRL’s most recent SEALAB project activity in strengthening laboratory capacity to detect and respond to infectious disease outbreaks of a potentially pandemic nature has focused on Lao PDR.
The first Lao PDR Consultation Meeting for the SEALAB Project was held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 10 November 2020. Stakeholders in attendance included the SEALAB Consortium members- the Mérieux Foundation, Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS) and NRL, who agreed to:

Receive updates on the key progress and challenges regarding the implementation of the current National Strategic Plan for Health Laboratories 2013-2020; and the National Veterinary Laboratory Plan

Provide an overview of activities and determine key steps to enable the implementation of SEALAB project activities in Lao PDR
As a result of these discussions, NRL will provide customised support to enable SEALAB associated activities in Lao PDR.
