37th Annual NRL Symposium on Infectious Diseases Testing

  DEFERRED

Whilst the COVID19 pandemic is affecting many sectors across the community  including acute hospital care and general practice, there is no doubt that medical laboratory scientists working in infectious diseases are also feeling the full force of the responsibility, urgency and challenges of providing SARS-CoV-2 testing services.

NRL is aware that almost all of those who would have been  planning to attend the Symposium will now in some way, shape or form be working on the front lines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The availability of  international and national guest speakers at this time is also uncertain which may compromise the delivery of high level content for the scientific programme and undermines planning for the event.

Given these circumstances,  the 37th Annual NRL Symposium on Infectious Diseases Testing will be deferred until 2021. It will now be held from the  11-13 October 2021 at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne.

We share in your disappointment regarding this decision but we feel it is in the best interests of all stakeholders.

We look forward to welcoming you back in 2021!
